We want to hear your theories on a Bronze Age mystery.
Thor’s Fissure, a cave in the Manifold Valley, was excavated by the Peakland Archaeological Society between 1927 and 1933. They found many objects during the dig, including a most unusual find – three dolphin bones, many miles from the sea. It is thought the bones were placed in the cave 3,000 to 4,000 years ago, during the Bronze Age.
You can read more about this unusual find HERE.
We want to hear your theories and suggestions as to how the these bones may have ended up in the cave. It can be as imaginative as you like! But remember, the shape of the Bronze Age landscape was much as it is today, so the cave was already many miles from the sea.
