The Wonders of the Peak gallery welcomes schools to visit in different and exciting ways.
Teachers can:
Visit the Wonders of the Peak gallery at the Buxton Museum on self-led visits, with opportunities to handle objects from the museum’s collection
Extend a visit into the local landscape, virtually or actually, through the Wonders of the Peak app and online gallery
Arrange a combined visit with the museum and its partners, using technology to make links
Respond to online Challenges.
This section of the website contains teaching resources that are full of ideas for self-led learning sessions based on the Wonders of the Peak gallery and wider landscape.
If teachers are not able to take their class on a visit to the museum, the Wonders of the Peak app will support parents/carers to explore layers of local history in and around Buxton with their children.
The Wonders of the Peak online gallery and app provide an extensive resource bank generated by museum staff, visitors and partners including local schools. The app uses this bank of material to generate walks and trails for visitors.
